Adorned with Rosary Beads

Adorned with Rosary Beads

This was shot in Hawaii, the Big Island, outside the St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church. The church is more commonly known as "The Painted Church", so nick-named for the beautiful paintings on its interior walls of scenes from the Bible. Established in 1842, it is considered an historical landmark. This statue of the Virgin Mary sits in the middle of the cemetery just outside the quaint little church. I crouched down low for the perspective and so that you wouldn't see any of the white crosses. Because it's Hawaii, the exotic tropical flora naturally flourish there. I believe the rosary beads are from visitors paying homage.
